I would recommend resizing it to ‘2400 x 3000′
or (depending on the dpi and camera quality)
Resize it to ‘1200×1500′
it should print out a nice clear quality 8×10 :] let me know how it goes.

hey great video , im new to gimp and it was helpful , All though I was hoping to figure out how to resize a photo so if I was to print it as an 8×10 or any size it would print the full photo and not cut out an edge . could you help me with that ? THANKS

Okay i have a picture i want to be my youtube background..but its like 786kb and it can only be like 300kb how do i know how much smaller to make the photo so i can use it??
May 25th, 2010 - 05:08
sounds like you’re only increasing the canvas size and not the image itself, click the image tab up top then hit scale image. NOT CANVAS SIZE. then increase both width and height
May 25th, 2010 - 05:08
Every time I try to make the image larger, it makes the image larger, but only within the frame of the original image. So instead of the full image, I get part of the image.
GIMP is one frustrating unuser friendly program.
