I suggest you go to the gimptalk forums (just google)and ask there. There is a lot more room for discussion there, then here in the youtube comments and there are more people to help.

Yes. GIMP does have channels. At this point though I am unsure if I can link the channels to individual layers. When I change channels it affects all. I was also wondering if you could adjust the amount with a dialog box. Something I’ve seen with CS. Still new with these tools so excuse me if I sound the fool. Thank you for the response and look forward to watching your other vids.

GIMP has channels. You can zoom by using + and – on your keyboard. For me + and – on my numerical keypad work as well.
See my “cool tricks about the gimp interface” video for how to pan in GIMP.

I haven’t checked yet, but is there one like this for RGB channels. I am used to elements & that does not have channels. Also, do you know of a way to use the scroll wheel to zoom in & out? I dislike using the magnify tool. Thanks for the vid! Informational.

I have Windows but its not a mac

The menu above the image you’re working on.
What operating system do you have? Windows, mac?
May 15th, 2010 - 00:31
What GIMP menu? All it says in preferences is: Temporary folder: tmp.
Swap folder: .gimp-2.6
May 15th, 2010 - 00:31
Go to edit- preferences – folders – scripts in the gimp menu.
There it will tell you where you can find your scripts folder on your computer.
May 15th, 2010 - 00:31
But I don’t have that “scripts” folder, how I get it?
May 15th, 2010 - 00:31
No, after you’ve downloaded it, put it in the folder on your computer that I show in the video.
Just follow the instructions in the video.
Oh and save your work. Go to file -> save and give it a name, and save it in a folder you’ll remember and use the extension .xcf . That way, if something goes wrong, you can continue working on it later.

I don’t understand I mean I download it? and then open it?
May 15th, 2010 - 00:31
you’re welcome.
A lot of gimpers use another method (alpha to selection, you’ll come across it) but remember this one, it gives cleaner results.
