How to create neon text in gimp.
This is a very basic and simple tutorial for beginners on how to create neon text as the name suggests. This was made for people that are not very familiar with gimp.

because when i downloaded gimp it was in chinese…-_-….u tried to download english but then it was blocked…so in chinese i couldn’t find the path button

when i click ctrl n to merge the layer it goes to make new image

Gimp has a neon filter built into it, you don’t need to do it as explained in this video, go to “File > Create > Logos > Neon” easy as that.

the text in the intro looks like that because of the bad quality of the video. I’ll take a look at it and try to see what you mean

there’s no way to change it to look smooth? look at that vegas intro video on my home page pause it and look at the text around the edges theres got to be a way to change this.

if you zoom in that much you will always see a pixelated image.

Open up gimp make a new layer, type in some text use elephant font, size of the font i used is 70 now zoom in to 800%,do u see squares on the edges of your text ?
