How do I save images I create in Gimp without them becoming all distorted?

I am making images in gimp and every time I save one and upload it to photobucket it ends up being all distorted and pixel-y. I am saving in JPG format. How to I keep my art from getting screwed up? It is really frustrating!

Can anyone recommend any other free drawing/image editing programs for Mac?

  1. Hi,
I use Gimp 2.3 and I love the program,
I personally think it’s the best free image editing program out there.
This happened to me a few times,
    it’s easily fixed though,
all you have to do is save your photo in the .PNG format,
    that’s what worked for me.
    Hope that helps :)
