    When you first make the new image, go to Image>Mode>Grayscale and then make your brush. When you save it as a .gbr, it should allow you to change the color :)

    Scan lines are often used in modern digital art and aren’t very useful when using Gimp to do something like a simple photo retouch. Here’s an example of scanlines in some modern art (add h t t p : / / to the beginning and replace all ‘DOT’s with a period):

    Scan lines are also commonly used on ‘userbars’, small icons found in forums.

  7. I knew how to do this already but good tutorial, explains it well,
    Another good way of doing scan lines are horizontally, it makes it look more like a TV screen,
    Diagnol scan lines are more for making wallpapers look stylish etc,
